A message from the Founder of Socks for Meals, Ketan
I recently received a letter from Food Bank Canada and was heartbroken to read the increased challenges families across Canada are facing with respect to putting food on the table. Here are some distressing stats contained in that letter:
- Almost 1 in 4 Canadians have been forced to buy less food.
- 7 in 10 people in Canada are opting for discount or lower-cost food because of rising costs.
- Almost half of Canadians are buying less food than normal.
For those of you that know me really well are very likely aware that I am a big foodie person and have a thing for novelty pairs of socks. Additionally, supporting small businesses is near to my heart. For this reason, I am partnering with my family owned business, moJJa Socks, to launch Socks for Meals.
For this inaugural year, with the purchase of any pair of novelty socks, Socks for Meals will donate 3 meals to those in need. Your purchase, in return, will allow Food Bank Canada to support over 4,750 hunger relief organizations Nationwide.
Here are examples of how you can help me reach my goal of 500 meals from now until end of year, 2022. If you would like to assist in any other means, please get in touch.
I appreciate your generosity,
